ISLAMABAD: President Asif Ali Zardari has expressed appreciation for the Coalition Joint Committee’s diplomatic efforts in effectively representing Pakistan’s perspective on the international stage. The President’s remarks came during a meeting with Senator Sherry Rehman, the Parliamentary Leader of the Pakistan Peoples Party Parliamentarians in the Senate, who visited him in Islamabad on Thursday.
In their discussion, they addressed the ongoing budget session and the active role of the party in legislative matters. Senator Rehman briefed the President on the Senate’s progress and outlined the recent diplomatic efforts led by the Coalition Joint Committee. These efforts have been aimed at promoting Pakistan’s message of peace and strategic maturity amid the recent tensions with India, while also seeking international support for Pakistan’s stance.
Senator Rehman expressed gratitude to President Zardari and Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif for their confidence and support in the committee and its leader, former Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari.
