President Zardari Oversees Signing of Strategic MoUs in China


Changsha, China: President Asif Ali Zardari attended a significant ceremony in Changsha where three memorandums of understanding (MoUs) were signed between Pakistani and Chinese entities. These agreements aim to enhance collaboration in the fields of desalination, agricultural technology, and the tea industry.



According to Press Information Department, the first MoU was established between the Local Government of Sindh and Lucion Environmental Technology Group. This agreement focuses on a seawater desalination project in Karachi, designed to augment the city’s water supply. Mr. Sharjeel Inam Memon, Sindh Senior Minister, and Mr. Yuhui, Secretary of the Party Branch and Chairman of Lucion Environmental Technology Group, signed the MoU.



The second MoU involves the Local Government of Sindh and Long Ping Hi-tech Information Company, promoting cooperation in agricultural technology. It was signed by Mr. Sharjeel Inam Memon and Mr. Chen Zhixin, Chairman of Longping High-Tech Information Company.



The third agreement, centered on the tea sector, was signed between MESKAY and FEMTEE Trading Company, Hunan Tea Group, and Jiaolong International Technology (Hainan). This MoU aims to foster development in the tea industry and strengthen economic and trade ties between the two countries. Senator Saleem Mandviwalla, Mr. Zhou Chongwang, and Mr. Hao Jiaolong represented the respective parties in the signing.



Notable attendees included Syed Qasim Naveed Qamar, Special Assistant to the Chief Minister of Sindh for Investment and Public-Private Partnership Projects, Ali Hassan Barohi, Chief Secretary of Sindh, and Pakistan’s Ambassador to China, Khalil Hashmi.
