Islamabad: President Asif Ali Zardari has called on children to prioritize education, describing it as the key to success. At an Iftar Dinner held at Aiwan-e-Sadr for orphaned children under the care of the Pakistan Orphan Care Forum, the President highlighted the importance of education for the country’s future.
President Zardari distributed computer tablets to the children, encouraging their use for educational purposes. He noted that the tablets, gifted on the suggestion of First Lady Aseefa Bhutto Zardari, should be utilized for learning and personal growth. The President expressed deep affection for the children, urging them to pursue their education with dedication.
During the event, Air Marshal (Retd.) Farooq Habib, Chairman of the Pakistan Orphan Care Forum, addressed the pressing issue of orphaned children in Pakistan. He noted that the country has an estimated 4.6 million orphaned children, with POCF and its affiliates supporting nearly 120,000 nationwide. Mr. Habib underscored the need for society to take collective responsibility for the care and rights of orphaned children.
The Chairman thanked President Zardari for his support and for hosting the Iftar Dinner, reinforcing the shared duty to provide for orphaned and underprivileged children in the country.
