NAUDERO: President Asif Ali Zardari has directed federal ministers to prioritize public relief in economic policies in light of the current regional situation. The directive was issued during a meeting held at Bhutto House, Naudero, with Federal Ministers Mohsin Naqvi, Muhammad Aurangzeb, and Ali Pervaiz Malik in attendance.
According to Radio Pakistan, President Zardari stressed the importance of minimizing the burden of petroleum product prices to ease the financial strain on the general population. The meeting’s discussions encompassed topics such as the national law and order situation, economic conditions, the energy sector, and the implications of fluctuating petroleum prices.
Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi provided the President with an update on counter-terrorism efforts and the security status along the nation’s borders. Additionally, the meeting included a comprehensive review of Pakistan-Afghanistan tensions and regional security challenges.
Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb and Minister for Petroleum Ali Pervaiz Malik offered insights into current economic indicators, the energy sector, and government strategies to address the challenges posed by rising petroleum costs.
