Islamabad: President Asif Ali Zardari has extended his congratulations to Singapore on the occasion of its 61st National Day, acknowledging the achievements of the nation and its leadership.

According to Press Information Department, President Zardari conveyed his best wishes in a letter to Singapore’s President, Tharman Shanmugaratnam, as well as the government and the people of Singapore. He praised Singapore’s journey of nation-building and economic transformation, attributing its success to visionary leadership, prudent governance, and the dedication of its citizens.

President Zardari noted the special significance of this year, marking the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Pakistan and Singapore. He highlighted the enduring friendship between the two countries, emphasizing mutual trust, goodwill, and strong people-to-people ties as the foundation of their relationship. The President expressed confidence in the continued engagement of both nations in multilateral forums and sustained bilateral political interactions.

He also pointed out the potential for expanding cooperation in various sectors, including digital economy, green technology, maritime and logistics connectivity, urban planning, vocational training, academic and cultural exchanges, and tourism. President Zardari affirmed Pakistan’s willingness to collaborate with Singapore in these areas for mutual benefit.
