Islamabad: On the International Day of Remembrance and Tribute to Victims of Terrorism, President Asif Ali Zardari reaffirmed his commitment to continue Pakistan’s robust response against terrorism, honoring the memory of civilians and security personnel lost in the conflict.
According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, President Zardari’s message highlighted the profound losses experienced by the nation, including the assassination of former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto and other political and religious leaders. He emphasized the enduring pain of families who have lost loved ones to terrorism and acknowledged the thousands of civilians and security forces who have died.
The President articulated a firm commitment to intensifying efforts against terrorism, stressing it as a fundamental government objective to eradicate terrorism with the support of the Pakistani people and to secure a peaceful future for the nation. He also highlighted the need for global cooperation to tackle terrorism, advocating for strengthened international partnerships and addressing the root causes of extremism.
