Islamabad: President Asif Ali Zardari celebrated International Youth Day by praising the significant contributions and potential of Pakistan’s young population. He emphasized the government’s commitment to nurturing this demographic as the cornerstone for the country’s future prosperity and progress.
According to Press Information Department, President Zardari highlighted several government initiatives designed to support youth development and participation across various sectors. The Prime Minister’s Youth Programme, a central element of this support, includes the Youth Laptop Scheme, which has already distributed 600,000 laptops to help students thrive in a digital economy. Additionally, the Youth Business Loan program has injected 186 billion rupees into fostering a new wave of entrepreneurs who contribute to economic growth and job creation.
The President also pointed to the success of the Youth Skill Development Programme, which has equipped 450,000 young individuals with vital skills for today’s job market. Initiatives like the Sports Talent Hunt and the Green Youth Movement further engage the youth in physical and environmental activities, cultivating a holistic approach to their development.
President Zardari urged young Pakistanis to leverage these opportunities, dream big, and work hard for the advancement of their country. He expressed pride in the dynamism and creativity of the youth, which he described as key drivers of national success.
