Islamabad: President Asif Ali Zardari praised the Asian Development Bank’s (ADB) significant contribution to Pakistan’s flood relief and socio-economic development during a meeting with the Bank’s Country Director, Yong Ye.
According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Yong Ye briefed President Zardari on the ADB’s initiatives, emphasizing their role in alleviating the impacts of the 2022 floods on Pakistan. The President expressed gratitude for the ADB’s assistance and discussed Pakistan’s ongoing efforts to address climate change, including extensive mangrove plantation in Sindh’s control area. Additionally, the outgoing Ambassador of Greece to Pakistan, Konstantinos Moatsos, also met with President Zardari, who advocated for stronger bilateral relations between Pakistan and Greece.
