Islamabad: President Asif Ali Zardari emphasized the importance of reinforcing parliamentary democracy and promoting political stability to guide Pakistan toward sustainable development. These remarks were made during a dinner at President House, honoring members of the Pakistan People’s Party Parliamentarians, Awami National Party, PML-Q, and Ishtehkam-e-Pakistan Party.
According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, President Zardari discussed the pressing challenges Pakistan faces today, highlighting the necessity for political unity to navigate the country through its current political, economic, and security issues. He advocated for increased tolerance and mutual respect among political entities, as well as strengthening democratic institutions to ensure effective governance and public service delivery.
Furthermore, President Zardari stressed the importance of political, economic, and governance reforms to boost economic prosperity and improve the quality of life for Pakistanis. He called on leaders to transcend partisan interests and dedicate themselves to the welfare of the populace.
Rejecting the politics of confrontation, President Zardari expressed his opposition to divisive political strategies that have historically damaged the nation, underscoring his commitment to a cohesive and prosperous Pakistan.
