President Zardari Calls for Dialogue and Socio-Economic Development in AJK


Islamabad, In a concerted effort to stabilize the turbulent situation in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), President Asif Ali Zardari has called for restraint and constructive dialogue among all stakeholders.



According to Press Information Department, during a meeting at Aiwan-e-Sadr with members of the AJK Legislative Assembly from the Pakistan People’s Party Parliamentarians (PPPP), President Zardari discussed the recent unsettling events in AJK. He urged political parties, state institutions, and citizens to collaborate responsibly to prevent any exploitation of the situation by hostile forces.



The President emphasized the need for addressing the grievances of AJK’s people within the legal framework and informed the delegation of his plans to discuss these issues with the Prime Minister of Pakistan. Highlighting the importance of socio-economic development, he stressed enhancing health, education, tourism, and infrastructure to improve the quality of life in AJK, particularly in its remote areas.



Furthermore, President Zardari expressed sorrow over the recent death of a police officer and other casualties in AJK, offering condolences to the families affected and hoping for a quick recovery for the injured.
