Islamabad: On the occasion of Independence Day, President Asif Ali Zardari has approved the conferment of prestigious national awards to 104 individuals, recognizing their significant contributions to various fields, both in Pakistan and internationally.
According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the awards, which include various categories such as Nishan-e-Pakistan, Hilal-e-Imtiaz, and Sitara-e-Imtiaz, will be officially presented at a ceremony on March 23 next year. Former Prime Minister Zulfikar Ali Bhutto Shaheed will be posthumously honored with Nishan-e-Pakistan for his public service, highlighting a diverse group of awardees ranging from leaders in science and technology to sports and arts.
Notable recipients include Arshad Nadeem and Murad Sadpara, recognized in sports, and Nasir Kazmi in literature. International figures such as Prince Abdul Aziz bin Salman Al-Saud will receive Hilal-e-Pakistan for his services to the nation. The awards extend across various sectors, emphasizing the government’s appreciation for contributions to education, health, arts, sports, and public service.
The ceremony will also recognize bravery and contributions to law enforcement and public safety, with several individuals awarded for their supreme sacrifices, including posthumous awards for valor. The awards underscore a commitment to acknowledging the hard work and dedication of both Pakistani nationals and supportive international figures.
