President Zardari Advocates for Stronger Economic Relations with Turkmenistan


Islamabad: In a recent meeting with Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan, Rashid Meredov, President Asif Ali Zardari emphasized the need to enhance economic ties and business-to-business connections between Pakistan and Turkmenistan. The discussions focused on boosting cooperation through various means, including creating closer linkages between the stock exchanges of the two nations.



According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, President Zardari articulated the deep value Pakistan places on its relationship with Turkmenistan, underpinned by shared cultural, religious, and value-based ties. He advocated for increasing economic collaboration as a pathway to mutual prosperity and highlighted the strategic importance of the TAPI Gas pipeline project. President Zardari reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to the timely completion of this project, noting its potential significant impact on the economic development of both countries.



The meeting underscores ongoing efforts by both nations to strengthen their partnership, leveraging their historic and cultural bonds to foster economic growth and stability in the region.
