President Zardari Advocates for Strengthened Pakistan-Singapore Trade Ties

Karachi, President Asif Ali Zardari has emphasized the need to expand bilateral trade and business connections between Pakistan and Singapore, urging Singaporean businesses to take advantage of Pakistan’s investment-friendly environment. In a meeting with Rabia Shafiq, the newly-appointed High Commissioner to Singapore, in Islamabad, President Zardari highlighted the potential for increasing exports of Pakistani food and agricultural products to Singapore.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the President pointed out that Pakistan could serve as a reliable source of food supplies for Singapore, focusing on the export of processed food items such as poultry, meat, and seafood. Furthermore, he stressed the importance of exploring opportunities to export Pakistani manpower to Singapore and enhancing bilateral cooperation in sectors like Information Technology and agriculture.

The discussions underscore the government’s commitment to bolstering Pakistan’s economic footprint in Singapore, signifying a concerted effort to deepen ties and create new avenues for partnership between the two nations.
