Islamabad: President Asif Ali Zardari has called for bolstering democratic institutions and embracing reforms to deepen democracy in Pakistan. In a statement on World Democracy Day, he underscored the importance of a strong democratic process to address national challenges and highlighted the role of Artificial Intelligence in enhancing governance.
According to Press Information Department, President Zardari’s message stressed the critical nature of democracy as the foundation for a fair and inclusive society. He remarked on the use of AI to improve the transparency, accountability, and efficiency of public administration and to provide voters with more accessible, data-driven insights into the democratic process. The President emphasized the vital responsibilities of Pakistan’s Parliament in protecting democracy, resolving public grievances, and developing inclusive policies.
President Zardari also honored the contributions of Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto and Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto to Pakistan’s democratic framework, recalling their sacrifices and continued influence on the nation’s democratic aspirations. He called for a renewed commitment to democratic values, declaring that through democracy, Pakistan can attain socio-economic justice, equality, rule of law, and freedom of expression.
