President Zardari Advocates for Establishment of Bulleh Shah International Peace University in Qasur


Qasur: President Asif Ali Zardari has called for the establishment of the Bulleh Shah International Peace University in Qasur to preserve and promote the teachings of the renowned Sufi poet Baba Bulleh Shah. The President’s proposal aims to honor Bulleh Shah’s legacy and his message of love, peace, and unity across various social barriers. This announcement was made during the 267th Urs of Baba Bulleh Shah, where the President’s message was delivered to advocate for dialogue, understanding, and respect among all communities.



According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, President Zardari expressed his views in a message that was read on his behalf at the event. He emphasized the relevance of Bulleh Shah’s teachings in today’s world and highlighted his significant impact on Pakistan’s cultural and spiritual heritage. The President stated that the establishment of this university would not only pay homage to Bulleh Shah’s lifelong dedication to spreading messages of humanity and peace but also facilitate the transmission of these values to future generations.



In his message, President Zardari noted that Bulleh Shah’s poetry, enriched with metaphors and profound wisdom, continues to inspire individuals to seek truth and understanding, transcending social, religious, and cultural divisions. He further recommended that the government take swift action on his proposal to fulfill a long-standing demand of the people of Qasur.



Furthermore, the President called upon all citizens to embody the values represented by Baba Bulleh Shah, especially in promoting dialogue and understanding amongst diverse communities. He stressed the importance of unity in diversity and the need for harmony and empathy in a world often characterized by discord.



This initiative, as proposed by President Zardari, underscores a significant step towards educational development in Qasur while aiming to instill and propagate the essential values of one of Pakistan’s most esteemed Sufi poets.
