President stresses on need of having inter-religions dialogue to ensure peace in society 

Islamabad, January 25, 2023 (PPI-OT):President Dr. Arif Alvi has stressed on the need of having inter-religions dialogue to ensure peace and tranquillity in the society. Addressing the International Interfaith Peace Conference in Islamabad on Wednesday, he said in the current era of Information Technology, we cannot ignore use of modern IT tools through which we can easily counter the hatred propaganda.

Dr Arif Alvi said terrorism has nothing to do with Islam and even every religion teaches us the lesson of love and peace. Talking about the religious freedom in Pakistan, he said there is complete freedom for all minorities in the country to perform their religious activities. The President said the constitution of Pakistan fully protects and guarantees the rights of the minorities. He urged the masses to follow the golden principles of Islam which teach us peace and to respect the universe.

The President strongly condemning the abhorrent act of desecration of the Holy Quran in Sweden, asked the international community to come forward and play their due role to stop these kinds of acts. He termed the act desecration of Holy Quran as against the internationally accepted norms and principles of legitimate right of freedom of expression.
