Islamabad: President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif have called on Scouts across the country to commit themselves to national service, emphasizing the importance of their role in fostering a progressive and inclusive society.
According to a statement by Press Information Department, President Zardari, in his message on World Scout Day, encouraged Scouts to engage in activities such as tree-planting campaigns, literacy programs, and social welfare initiatives. He highlighted that these efforts would not only contribute to a greener Pakistan but also help develop Scouts into responsible citizens committed to the nation’s progress.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif praised the contributions of trained Scouts during both peaceful and challenging times. He emphasized the necessity of dynamic programs that challenge and inspire young minds, fostering unity and character development among Scouts. Initiatives like Messengers of Peace, he noted, offer Scouts a platform to make a meaningful impact and promote social harmony, urging them to become global citizens with a positive societal contribution.
