Islamabad, President Dr. Arif Alvi has underscored the necessity of a dynamic approach to confront and resolve the challenges threatening regional peace. He articulated this stance while addressing the inaugural session of the Islamabad Conclave 2023, titled “Pakistan in a Changing World,” organized by the Institute of Strategic Studies.
According to Radio Pakistan, President Alvi stressed the importance of coordination among state institutions for effective policy-making and deliberations. He highlighted Pakistan’s strategic shift from geo-politics to geo-economics, emphasizing the need for policies that respond to the regional situation, particularly in light of India’s aggressive stance.
The President also brought attention to the Israeli aggression in Gaza, lamenting the global apathy that failed to prevent the massacre of innocent people, including women and children. He remarked that war is not a viable solution to conflicts, as it tends to perpetuate a vicious cycle of violence.
Expressing disappointment with the stance of democratic countries that support wars, President Alvi emphasized that morality should be the cornerstone of human thought. He advocated for an approach based on love, empathy, and forgiveness, considering these values essential in addressing current global challenges.
Dr. Arif Alvi’s address at the Islamabad Conclave 2023 reflects a call for a more compassionate and strategic approach to handling regional and global conflicts, emphasizing the role of ethical considerations in international relations.
