Karachi, President Dr. Arif Alvi has sanctioned the removal of Ahad Khan Cheema from his position as the Advisor to the Prime Minister for Establishment. This decision follows a directive from the Election Commission of Pakistan and subsequent actions by the caretaker Prime Minister.
According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the removal of Ahad Cheema was initiated upon instructions from the Election Commission of Pakistan. In response, the caretaker Prime Minister forwarded a summary to President Alvi, recommending Cheema’s dismissal from his advisory role.
The President’s approval for Cheema’s removal was granted under Article 48 of the constitution, acting on the advice of the Prime Minister. This move marks a significant administrative change, aligning with the directives of the Election Commission and the constitutional provisions.
