Islamabad, February 14, 2022 (PPI-OT):President Dr. Arif Alvi has called for women empowerment through financial inclusion and provision of better education facilities to them. Addressing an event titled “Dastan-e-Sinfi Masawat” in Islamabad on Monday, he said Islam raised the voice for the right of women about fourteen hundred years ago. He said malnutrition in women is also hindering their progress.
The President said government has launched a comprehensive program named Ehsaas to tackle poverty and ensure women empowerment. He said under Ehsaas program girls are being encouraged for education. Dr Arif Alvi urged the society to play its due role in protecting women from harassment and other discriminations. He said despite Islamic injunctions women are largely denied their right in inheritance. Speaking on the occasion, Member Provincial Assembly Sindh Rana Ansar urged the women to continue their struggle for their rights.
