President Calls for Collaborative Efforts Towards Sustainable Development Through GDI

Beijing: President Asif Ali Zardari has emphasized the need for collaborative efforts to drive sustainable development and foster common prosperity under the Global Development Initiative (GDI). Speaking virtually at the 2nd High-level Meeting of the Forum on Global Action for Shared Development, he highlighted the strategic importance of the GDI, particularly for the Eastern hemisphere, which houses the majority of the global population.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, President Zardari, during his speech organized by the China International Development Cooperation Agency (CIDCA) in Beijing, stressed the importance of addressing global challenges including progress, development, and health from an Eastern perspective. He noted that countries such as China, Pakistan, and other neighboring nations are crucial to this approach.

The President underscored that the GDI holds the potential to significantly shape the future world by promoting shared development and urged developing countries to take a leadership role in the global development process. He expressed optimism about the initiative’s ability to bring about substantial and beneficial changes globally.
