President Awards Honors for Marka-e-Haq Services

Islamabad: President Asif Ali Zardari presented civil and military awards to various individuals in recognition of their significant contributions during Marka-e-Haq. The awards ceremony was held at a formal investiture event in the capital city today.

The President bestowed the Nishan-i-Imtiaz on several key figures, including Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar and Law Minister Azam Nazeer Tarar, for their exceptional service. Other notable recipients included Defense Minister Khawaja Asif and Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar.

Military accolades were also distributed to officers and soldiers from the Pakistan Army, Navy, and Air Force for their bravery during Operation “Bunyan-um-Marsoos.” Field Marshal Chief of Army Staff Syed Asim Munir received the Hilal-i-Jurat for his leadership.

Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee General Sahir Shamshad Mirza was honored with the Nishan-i-Imtiaz. Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmad Babar Sidhu and Naval Chief Admiral Naveed Ashraf also received top honors for their roles in the operation.

ISI Chief Lieutenant General Muhammad Asim Malik and Director General Inter Services Public Relations Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry were awarded the Sitara-e-Basalt.

The Pakistan Air Force saw multiple members receive the Sitara-i-Jurat, including Wing Commanders Bilal Raza and Hammad Ibne Masood.

The ceremony also recognized members of the Prime Minister’s diplomatic mission with the Hilal-e-Imtiaz for their efforts in promoting Pakistan’s international standing. This group included Minister for Climate Change Musadik Masood Malik and SAPM Syed Tariq Fatemi.

Additional awards, such as the Hilal-e-Imtiaz and Sitara-i-Imtiaz, were granted to various government officials and media personalities, acknowledging their significant roles in public service and media.

Overall, the event saw a total of 129 awards distributed, celebrating outstanding contributions across multiple fields.
