President and Prime Minister Deliberate on Political and Economic Challenges

Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif met with President Asif Ali Zardari on Tuesday to discuss the pressing political and economic issues facing the country. The meeting, held in Islamabad, highlighted concerns about the welfare of the nation’s workers and low-income groups.

During the meeting, Prime Minister Sharif provided President Zardari with a detailed briefing on his recent official visit to the United Arab Emirates. Additionally, he shared key elements of the federal budget, focusing on measures intended to address the country’s economic challenges.

President Zardari stressed the importance of ensuring that the federal budget prioritizes the needs of the common man. He emphasized that the government must take effective measures to alleviate the challenges faced by the salaried class, pensioners, laborers, and other underprivileged segments of society.

The President also underscored the necessity of initiatives aimed at employment generation and social protection. These efforts, he noted, are crucial to supporting the poor and vulnerable sections of the population.

The meeting was attended by Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, federal ministers Ahsan Iqbal and Azam Nazeer Tarar, and Senator Saleem Manviwalla, who contributed to the discussion on strategies to address the country’s socio-economic issues.
