President Alvi Stresses Importance of First Aid Training in Schools and Commends Girl Guides’ Initiatives

Islamabad, In a push for bolstered emergency preparedness in educational settings, President Dr. Arif Alvi emphasized the crucial need for first aid training in institutions, aiming to equip the younger generation with essential skills to address emergency scenarios.

According to a news release by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Dr. Alvi made these remarks during the concluding event of the 12th All Pakistan Camp of the Girls Guide Association held in Islamabad. The President highlighted that such training could play a pivotal role in preserving human lives during critical moments. Addressing the girl guides present, he also emphasized the importance of being compassionate and attentive towards individuals with disabilities.

President Alvi went on to stress the need to amplify the number of girl guides, citing their valuable contribution, especially in times of natural disasters. He also recognized and praised the proactive role of girl guides in enhancing public awareness about breast cancer and the overall facets of physical and mental health.

The event saw participation from girl guides representing all four provinces, Gilgit-Baltistan, Azad Jammu and Kashmir, and the Islamabad Capital Territory.

In her address, Maria Sabri, the National Commissioner of the Pakistan Girl Guides Association, provided insights into the organization’s operations and initiatives. She revealed that a staggering 140,000 girl guide volunteers are actively working nationwide, ready to lend a hand during natural calamities and emergency situations.
