President Alvi and GB Governor Discuss Key Issues in Gilgit-Baltistan

Islamabad, In a significant meeting today, Governor Gilgit-Baltistan Syed Mehdi Shah met with President Dr. Arif Alvi to discuss the current situation in Gilgit-Baltistan, focusing on topics such as wheat subsidies, the development of Baltistan University, and issues specific to Skardu.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, President Alvi shared updates on his conversations with the Caretaker Prime Minister and Finance Minister regarding the wheat subsidy issue in Gilgit-Baltistan. He expressed optimism that the challenges faced by the region, particularly concerning wheat subsidies, would be resolved soon.

The President also mentioned that the Caretaker Prime Minister has agreed to meet with elected members of the Gilgit-Baltistan Council to further discuss the wheat subsidy issue. This meeting marks a proactive step towards addressing key concerns in Gilgit-Baltistan and underscores the government’s commitment to the region’s development and welfare.
