Karachi, President Dr. Arif Alvi has called for enhanced cooperation with Egypt, Oman, Bosnia, Sri Lanka, and Cyprus, focusing on trade, economy, and cultural exchanges. His remarks came during separate meetings with the ambassadorsdesignate and the High Commissioner of these countries in Islamabad.
According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the President welcomed each envoy to Pakistan, where they presented their diplomatic credentials. In his meeting with the ambassadordesignate of Egypt, Dr. Ihab Mohamed Abdelhamid Hassan, President Alvi emphasized the shared bonds of faith, culture, and values between the two countries. He stressed the importance of expanding trade, economic, and cultural cooperation.
President Alvi expressed Pakistan’s concern over the violence in Gaza, condemning the actions of the Israeli security forces. He highlighted the significance of peace and stability in the region.
Welcoming Emin Cohodarevic, the Ambassadordesignate of Bosnia and Herzegovina, President Alvi remarked on the deep friendship between Pakistan and Bosnia, based on mutual trust and brotherhood. He noted the potential for expanding bilateral cooperation in trade, economy, and peopletopeople contacts.
The President’s discussion with Admiral Retired Ravindra Chandrasiri Wijegunaratne, the High Commissionerdesignate of Sri Lanka, focused on the longstanding and strengthening relationship between Sri Lanka and Pakistan. He underscored the need for deeper cultural linkages and more frequent exchanges at political and cultural levels.
President Alvi’s engagements with these diplomatic representatives highlight Pakistan’s commitment to nurturing and expanding its international relations.
