President Advocates Enhanced Business Ties with Bosnia and Herzegovina


Islamabad, President Asif Ali Zardari has emphasized the importance of strengthening business and trade relations with Bosnia and Herzegovina, proposing the initiation of banking services, trading in local currencies, and encouraging barter trade. During a meeting with the Bosnian Ambassador, Mr. Emin Cohodarevic, at Aiwan-e-Sadr today, the President outlined his vision for bolstering the nearly three-decade-long relationship between the two nations.



According to Press Information Department, President Zardari praised the existing friendly ties and expressed the desire to expand bilateral engagements in various fields of mutual interest. Ambassador Cohodarevic highlighted opportunities for Pakistani businesses in Bosnia and Herzegovina’s food, tourism, and textile sectors. He also thanked Pakistan for its support during the 1990s conflict in Bosnia and Herzegovina and sought support for a draft resolution on Srebrenica at the United Nations General Assembly. President Zardari reassured him of Pakistan’s support and solidarity with the victims of the 1995 Srebrenica tragedy and welcomed the invitation to visit Bosnia and Herzegovina to further economic cooperation.
