Srinagar, July 03, 2023 (PPI-OT):Jammu Kashmir Democratic Freedom Party (DFP) while expressing its profound grief and sorrow over the death of veteran trade union leader Sampat Prakash has termed his demise as a great loss. In a statement issued in Srinagar, the DFP on behalf of its incarcerated chairman Shabbir Ahmed Shah extended heartfelt sympathies and condolences to the bereaved family. Hailing the deceased leader’s selfless services to the Kashmiri society, the statement said that Prakash was a fearless advocate of Kashmiris’ fundamental rights who never hesitated in calling spade a spade.
“Sampat Prakash was a man of character and a true friend and well-wisher of Kashmiris who refused to accept the foreign dictates”, the statement said, adding that the deceased was a symbol of interfaith harmony and served as a bridge between the Muslim and Pandit community in Kashmir. Prakash has also supported for a peaceful settlement of the Kashmir dispute through dialogue and diplomacy. The DFP also condoled the demise of the brother of Ghulam Rasool Nawaz of Pampore.
Meanwhile, the DFP acting chairman and convener APHC-AJK Convener Mehmood Ahmed Saghar termed Sampat Prakash’s death as a big loss and hailed his valuable work and contribution as a community leader who enjoyed great respect in the Kashmiri society. Saghar expressed his deep sympathies with the bereaved family.
A delegation of Jammu and Kashmir democratic Youth Forum, Jammu and Kashmir Democratic Political Movement, Jammu and Kashmir Political Resistance Movement and others visited the residence of Sampat Pakash and expressed solidarity with the bereaved family members.
