Islamabad: The Private Power and Infrastructure Board (PPIB) has announced an extension of the validity for all Certificates issued under the AEDB (Certification) Regulations, 2021. Originally set to expire on June 30, 2024, these certificates will now remain valid until August 31, 2024.
According to Private Power and Infrastructure Board, this extension follows a prior notification from the Pakistan Engineering Council and aims to facilitate continued operations and compliance in the energy sector across Pakistan. The PPIB’s managing director, Shah Jahan Mirza, confirmed the extension through an official notification distributed to key stakeholders, including the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority and various regional electric supply companies.
This measure is expected to impact a wide range of entities within the power sector, from large electricity supply companies in major cities such as Islamabad, Lahore, and Karachi to certified installers who are registered with the PPIB. The extension is intended to ensure that there is no disruption in the regulatory compliance and operational continuity of these entities.
