Quetta: Provincial Health Minister Bakht Muhammad Kakar engaged in discussions with CASCO Chief Shafqat Ali regarding the ongoing power crisis and load shedding issues affecting hospitals in Balochistan. The minister highlighted the installation of crucial modern medical equipment, such as CT scans, MRIs, and oxygen plants, in hospitals across the districts of Kech, Loralai, and Khuzdar, emphasizing the necessity of a consistent 24-hour power supply to ensure effective medical treatment and diagnostics for the public.
According to Directorate General Public Relation – Govt of Balochistan, a committee comprising representatives from CASCO and the Health Department has been established to address electricity supply issues, payment of dues, and other related concerns in hospitals on a daily basis. Shafqat Ali, the CASCO Chief for Balochistan, assured the Provincial Health Minister that uninterrupted electricity would be provided to crucial hospitals, including Mufti Mahmood Memorial Hospital Kuchlak, Bacha Khan Hospital Zarghun Housing Scheme, and Benazir Hospital Ghausabad, starting today.
The provincial health minister expressed that this decision marks a vital step towards enhancing medical facilities and addressing health challenges promptly. He reiterated the commitment to taking all necessary measures for the welfare of the populace. The joint committee’s primary aim is to ensure the resolution of electricity supply issues and payment concerns promptly, facilitating the provision of quality healthcare services to the province’s underprivileged residents.
