Karachi, In a significant expression of dissent, posters have emerged in Srinagar and other parts of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), accusing the Indian government of victimizing the local population. These posters, displayed by pro-freedom organizations, assert that India is oppressing Kashmiris for demanding their right to self-determination, a right affirmed by several United Nations Security Council resolutions.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the posters condemn the actions of Indian troops in IIOJK, accusing them of exercising excessive force and committing human rights violations under the protection of draconian laws. They depict a scenario where the lives of Kashmiri people are at the constant mercy of these forces.
The messages on the posters call for the intervention of the United Nations to facilitate a plebiscite, allowing the people of Kashmir to determine their political future. They highlight the worsening daily life of Kashmiris due to India’s illegal occupation and the brutal tactics employed by the Indian military.
Further, the posters allege that Indian troops are engaging in fake encounters and custodial killings for rewards and promotions. They urge the international community to take notice of the atrocities committed by the Hindutva-influenced Indian Army in occupied Kashmir.
These posters represent a poignant plea from pro-freedom organizations in IIOJK, seeking global attention and intervention to address the ongoing crisis and affirm the region’s right to self-determination.
