Srinagar, In the cities of Srinagar and Baramulla in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), posters have surfaced making a poignant appeal to the local population. These posters call on Kashmiris to protect their heritage and future generations by not selling their land and properties to outsiders, a move perceived as directly countering the agendas of the RSS/BJP-led Hindutva regime in India.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the campaign behind these posters seeks to highlight and resist India’s policies in the region, which many view as an attempt to alter the demographic makeup of IIOJK and mislead the international community regarding the ongoing situation. The messages caution residents against accepting seemingly attractive offers for their ancestral lands in dollars or rupees, drawing parallels to the plight of Palestinians to underscore the potential long-term consequences of such transactions.
The posters articulate concerns over the RSS/BJP’s implementation of policies reminiscent of those used by Israel, aimed at displacing Kashmiris and settling non-Kashmiris in their place through the issuance of domicile certificates. This strategy, supported by Indian military and police forces, is feared to drastically change the demographic landscape of the territory.
Additionally, the posters allege the appropriation of Dogra lands in the Jammu region by the RSS/BJP for the resettlement of non-local individuals, offering them employment and contractual opportunities. A stark warning is also issued regarding the purported plans to transfer Kashmiri land ownership to individuals from the Indian state of Maharashtra.
In response to these developments, the posters advocate for unity among Kashmiris and call for a renewed push for self-determination in accordance with United Nations resolutions, urging the local population to stand firm against the RSS/BJP’s divisive and harmful policies.
