Srinagar, Posters have surfaced in various parts of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), aiming to draw global attention to the serious human rights abuses being committed by Indian forces in the region. The posters, displayed on the occasion of Human Rights Day, emphasize the ongoing plight of Kashmiris under Indian rule.
According to Kashmir Media Service, Human Rights Day is observed worldwide on December 10, marking the adoption of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR) by the United Nations General Assembly in 1948. In observance of this day, Hurriyat organizations in IIOJK have put up posters in Srinagar and other areas highlighting the violations of fundamental rights, including the right to self-determination, being denied to the people in the region.
The posters call on the international community to recognize and act against the state-sponsored terrorism and atrocities by Indian forces in IIOJK. These include property attachments, land seizures, house demolitions, and the unjust termination of Kashmiri employees. The appeals in the posters urge global entities to facilitate the resolution of the Kashmir dispute in accordance with United Nations resolutions.
In addition to physical displays, these posters have been circulated on various social media platforms, amplifying their reach and impact.
The All Parties Hurriyat Conference, in tandem with these efforts, has stated that the Indian BJP regime is perpetrating severe atrocities against unarmed Kashmiris, including the youth. Despite these challenges, the Kashmiri people remain resolute in their struggle for self-determination and are committed to seeing it through to its logical conclusion.
