Srinagar, In a poignant display of dissent, posters have emerged in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) decrying the deteriorating daily life of Kashmiris under New Delhi’s occupation. These posters, a reflection of the region’s fraught situation, highlight the impact of state terrorism and the oppressive actions of the Indian army on the local populace.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the posters, put up by pro-freedom parties, express a grim picture of life in IIOJK. They point out that the residents are constantly under threat due to the harsh tactics of Indian troops. Particularly in the Poonch areas, there have been allegations of innocent citizens being detained and killed while in army custody.
The posters also accuse Indian troops of misusing their extensive powers granted under draconian laws to conduct fake encounters and custodial killings for personal gain, such as rewards and promotions. Furthermore, they call on the global community to take notice of the brutalities inflicted by the Indian army, driven by a Hindutva mindset, on the Kashmiri people.
This public expression of discontent underscores the ongoing human rights concerns in IIOJK and the urgent need for international attention to the plight of its inhabitants.
