Posters appear in IIOJK, greeting people, govt of Pakistan ahead of their Independence Day

Srinagar, August 12, 2023 (PPI-OT): Posters have appeared in different areas of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, congratulating the people and government of Pakistan ahead of their Independence Day. Despite the heavy deployment of Indian troops, paramilitary and police personnel and surveillance cameras, posters have appeared in Srinagar and other areas of the territory reading “14th August – congratulations to the people of Pakistan on the 76th independence anniversary.”

“The Kashmir dispute is an unfinished agenda of the partition of the Indian subcontinent”. “Pakistan is the champion of Kashmiris’ right to self-determination”, the posters said. The posters read, “Sustainable peace cannot be established in the region without resolving the Kashmir dispute according to the aspirations of the people of Jammu and Kashmir and the resolutions of the United Nations.”

“Pakistan is a precious gift of Allah Almighty. Kashmiris consider themselves a part of this country and are struggling to free Jammu and Kashmir from the Indian illegal occupation and annex it to Pakistan,” the poster said. The posters, displayed by Jammu and Kashmir Political Resistance Movement with Pakistani flag, have been pasted on pillars, electricity poles and walls containing pictures of top Kashmiri resistance leaders, Masarat Aalam Butt, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, Shabbir Ahmad Shah, Aasiya Andrabi, Nayeem Ahmed Khan, Mushtaq-ul-Islam and other detained leaders.

The posters, displayed by Jammu and Kashmir Democratic Youth, congratulating the people and government of Pakistan ahead of their Independence Day, contain pictures of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, Allama Iqbal and Army Chief General Syed Asim Munir. On the other hand, posters have also been pasted across the territory terming the Indian Independence Day, the 15th August, as a Black Day for Kashmiris. The people of Kashmir, talking to media men, said: “We will never accept India’s illegal occupation and abrogation of Articles 370 and 35A.” The posters were also shared on social media platforms, including Facebook and twitter.
