Islamabad, Caretaker Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Murtaza Solangi announced today that political parties are actively engaged in discussions regarding the formation of a new government, dispelling concerns of any deadlock. In a media briefing in Islamabad, Solangi emphasized that the lack of a simple majority in the recent general elections has necessitated these talks among political forces.
According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Solangi highlighted that, as per the Constitution, there is still time for convening the session of the National Assembly, with the last date set for the 29th of this month. He reassured that the Constitution provides a clear framework for resolving such situations should the parties fail to reach a consensus on government formation.
This development comes in the wake of a closely contested election where no single party was able to secure an outright majority, leading to ongoing negotiations to form a viable government.
