Karachi, In a recent meeting focused on Karachi’s law and order, Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah lauded the police for the successful rescue of two kidnap victims from Baldia and called for intensified police efforts in crime hotspots. The Chief Minister expressed concern over the city’s security situation and urged for a concerted drive to make Karachi a peaceful and liveable city.
According to Chief Minister of Sindh, the law enforcement’s recent operation in Baldia led to the recovery of two kidnapped individuals, Shahid and Abdullah, and the arrest of four suspects in an injured state during the encounter. This action, facilitated by modern technical devices, highlighted the ongoing struggle against criminal activities in the region.
Additional IG Karachi Imran Yakoob briefed that the daily crime rate in Karachi is comparatively low per police station, but stressed the importance of vigilance and proactive policing to manage the crime situation effectively. In response to the increasing incidents of street crime and kidnappings, the Chief Minister directed the police to replace underperforming officers with more dynamic personnel and emphasized the necessity of using the latest technology and intelligence in law enforcement operations.
The Chief Minister also mentioned a gang operating from a UAE state involved in kidnappings for ransom, indicating international collaboration for apprehending these criminals. The commitment to improve law enforcement was underlined by the provision of modern equipment to the police, aiming to enhance their efficiency in combating crime.
This meeting underscores the provincial government’s priority to address security concerns, with a strong emphasis on safeguarding the lives and properties of Karachi’s residents through enhanced law enforcement measures and international cooperation.
