Islamabad: A police vehicle serving as an advance scout for a group of diplomats was struck by an improvised explosive device (IED) near Malam Jabba, resulting in the death of one officer and injuries to three others. The diplomats, returning to Islamabad from their trip, were unharmed.
According to Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the incident occurred as the diplomats were en route to the capital after visiting Malam Jabba and Swat. The attack has claimed the life of a police officer, described as ‘shaheed’, a term used in Pakistan to honor martyrs. The Ministry extended its condolences to the families of the deceased and the injured.
The Ministry also reiterated Pakistan’s resolve to continue its efforts in combating terrorism, emphasizing that such attacks would not weaken the country’s determination. They also praised the courage of law enforcement agencies in maintaining security and peace.
