Srinagar: Authorities in Indian illegally occupied Kashmir have formally warned local social media users against posting content supportive of the late Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah, cautioning against expressions that could ignite sectarian tensions.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the police advisory, disseminated via the social media platform X, calls for the community to avoid sharing divisive material related to Nasrallah and the Israeli conflict. The advisory specifies that such actions could result in “strict legal action under relevant sections of the law.”
The directive underscores potential legal repercussions for those disseminating sectarian, inflammatory, or provocative content online. This follows a wave of largely peaceful protests in the districts of Srinagar and Budgam, sparked by Nasrallah’s death, illustrating the regional impact of international figures and events.
