Police, Hindu extremists attack Eid Milad-un-Nabi Procession in India

New Delhi, October 19, 2021 (PPI-OT):Indian police and Hindu extremists attacked Muslims when they were taking out an Eid Milad-un-Nabi (PBUH) procession in the Indian state of Madhya Pradesh. According to Kashmir Media Service, Muslims took out a peaceful Milad procession in Dhar town of Madhya Pradesh, today, to mark the birth anniversary of Holy Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH).

The Hindu extremists prevented the procession from passing through the streets. On this occasion, the people attending were severely attacked and injured by the Hindu extremists. The police joined hands as shown in the footage that has been making rounds on social media. The police resorted to lathi-charge against the Muslims.

Media reports say that on one hand, the locals were attacking the Muslims with sticks and stones, while on the other, the police force was also torturing Muslims with batons. The reports say that the policemen kept pulling the beards of the Muslims and dragged them to the ground with their hair.

On the other hand, people protested in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, for not being granted permission to take out the Milad procession. A large number of people from the Muslim community reached the parade intersection and started protesting and shouting slogans. The police used brute force to disperse the protesters, injuring several of them.
