PMYP Champions National Progress through Youth Empowerment and Sports, Rana Mashhood Announces at Table Tennis League Finale

Islamabad, The Prime Minister’s Youth Program (PMYP), in collaboration with the Higher Education Commission (HEC), concluded its Table Tennis National League at the Pakistan Sports Board with a ceremony headlined by PMYP Chairman, Mr. Rana Mashhood Ahmed Khan. The event celebrated the achievements of young athletes and outlined further initiatives to enhance youth empowerment and national progress through sports.

According to Press Information Department, Mr. Rana Mashhood Ahmed Khan delivered a speech where he congratulated the winning teams and encouraged all participants to continue striving for excellence. He emphasized the PMYP’s commitment to leveraging sports as a platform for youth development and societal health. “The initiative is not just about sports but is a holistic approach to nurture the young population, providing them with opportunities to thrive in various sectors,” he remarked.

The ceremony highlighted the Talent Hunt Youth Sports League, an endeavor that marked the first time the HEC was involved in organizing sports trials across 25 locations nationwide. This initiative aims to foster a competitive spirit among the youth and promote inclusivity and tolerance through sports. Mr. Khan also noted the successful integration of teams from all provinces, including Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Kashmir, showcasing the national scope of the league.

Further, he announced upcoming training camps for the SAF Games and other international championships, designed to prepare the best athletes to represent Pakistan on global stages. Mr. Khan’s speech also touched on other PMYP ventures like the Youth Loan Scheme and the Prime Minister’s Laptop Scheme, reiterating the government’s dedication to comprehensive youth welfare.

The event ended with Mr. Khan distributing prizes to the top teams, with Punjab A, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa A and B securing the top spots in the boys’ category, and Punjab B, Punjab A, and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa A leading in the girls’ category. He concluded with a call to the youth, urging them to commit to the advancement and prosperity of Pakistan regardless of their field of involvement.
