Lahore: Muhammad Nawaz Sharif, President of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), announced a significant electricity tariff relief for Punjab’s consumers. Under this initiative, users consuming up to 500 units will benefit from a Rs 14 per unit discount on their electricity bills for August and September.
According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, during a press meeting in Lahore alongside Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, Nawaz Sharif disclosed that Rs 45 billion has been allocated to support this relief effort. He emphasized the commitment of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz towards improving the living conditions of the economically disadvantaged segments of society.
Furthermore, Nawaz Sharif highlighted an ambitious Rs 700 billion solar program aimed at providing additional relief to the middle class by reducing their energy expenses and promoting sustainable energy practices within the province.
