PM vows to sacrifice for defence, national interests of country

Islamabad, May 28, 2022 (PPI-OT): Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has said that they will not hesitate to sacrifice for defence, security and national interests of the country. The Prime Minister in his message, congratulating the nation on Youm-e-Takbeer, said it is a historic day when Pakistan in 1998 announced not to compromise its freedom, sovereignty and defence.

He also paid rich tributes to the founder of Pakistan’s nuclear programme Zulfikar Ali Bhutto and PML-N leader Nawaz Sharif. He added that Nawaz Sharif made Pakistan the first of the Islamic world and seventh of the world’s nuclear power, while rejecting all kinds of pressure and inducement.

The Prime Minister said the nation pays respect to all those who contributed in making the country nuclear power, including all the past governments, armed forces, scientists, engineers, Pakistan Atomic Energy Commission and Dr Abdul Qadeer Khan and all others who were associated with the nuclear programme. He said these are the heroes of the nation.

Shehbaz Sharif also thanked all the brotherly countries, including Saudi Arabia that supported Pakistan during economic sanctions. The Prime Minister said, “We, as a nation, have to move forward with the passion of financial sovereignty and self-reliance of Youm-e-Takbeer.”
