PM Urges Saudi Arabia to Advocate for Regional Peace


Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has called on Saudi Arabia and other allied nations to encourage India to de-escalate ongoing tensions, focusing on ensuring peace and stability in South Asia. This appeal was made during a meeting with Saudi Ambassador Nawaf bin Saeed Al-Maliky in Islamabad.



Sharif stressed Pakistan’s commitment to regional stability and condemned terrorism in all its forms, emphasizing the nation’s extensive efforts and sacrifices in combating terrorism globally. He reiterated Pakistan’s rejection of India’s allegations linking the country to the Pahalgam incident, urging for a transparent international investigation.



Highlighting Pakistan’s economic progress over the last fifteen months, the Prime Minister asserted that any irresponsible actions were contrary to the nation’s objectives of economic stability and growth. He appreciated the support of friendly nations like Saudi Arabia in these efforts.



Sharif extended his greetings to Saudi King Salman and Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman, acknowledging their consistent support for Pakistan. In response, Ambassador Al-Maliky expressed Saudi Arabia’s intent to collaborate with Pakistan to promote regional peace and security.
