PM Terms Pak-China Friendship Vital for Regional Stability


Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Wednesday highlighted the significance of the Pakistan-China relationship, describing it as crucial not only for the two nations involved but also for broader regional stability and global peace and development. The remarks came during a meeting with Chinese Ambassador Jiang Zaidong in the capital city.



According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, during his dialogue with Ambassador Jiang, Prime Minister Sharif expressed his gratitude for China’s steadfast support to Pakistan in times of need. He commended the Chinese leadership for their vision in continuously fostering and enhancing the strategic relationship between Pakistan and China, particularly through initiatives like the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).



Further, the Prime Minister voiced Pakistan’s eagerness to expand cooperation with China across various sectors, including information technology, artificial intelligence, and modern agriculture. This intention underscores a mutual desire to deepen ties beyond conventional avenues and explore new areas of collaborative growth and development.



The meeting underscores ongoing efforts by both nations to strengthen their strategic partnership, a cornerstone of which is the CPEC, a multifaceted infrastructure network that plays a pivotal role in regional connectivity and economic prosperity in Pakistan.
