Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is scheduled to address the 79th session of the United Nations General Assembly tomorrow, where he will focus on significant international concerns such as the Palestine question and the Jammu and Kashmir dispute.
According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the announcement was made by Foreign Office Spokesperson Mumtaz Zahra Baloch during her weekly news briefing. The Prime Minister’s speech will emphasize the critical need for resolving the Jammu and Kashmir issue to achieve lasting peace and stability in South Asia. Baloch highlighted that Pakistan would continue to urge the United Nations to engage actively in implementing the relevant UN Security Council resolutions regarding Jammu and Kashmir and securing the right to self-determination for the Kashmiri people.
In response to inquiries about a recent terrorist attack in Swat, Baloch assured that Pakistan remains committed to the safety of diplomats and is advancing security protocols to prevent such incidents in the future. She encouraged foreign diplomats to explore Pakistan while adhering to the provided travel guidelines.
Furthermore, Baloch expressed serious concerns over the security conditions in the Middle East, particularly criticizing Israel’s actions against Lebanon as a severe breach of the UN Charter and international law. She called for immediate international action to hold Israel accountable for what she referred to as acts of international terrorism and war crimes, reaffirming Pakistan’s support for Lebanon’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
