ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has reiterated Pakistan’s dedication to the principles of multilateralism and underscored the nation’s ongoing commitment to the United Nations during a meeting with María Fernanda Espinosa, a candidate for the position of United Nations Secretary-General.
According to Radio Pakistan, the Prime Minister expressed his hope that the future leadership of the United Nations will continue to uphold the three foundational pillars of the organization: adherence to the principles of the UN Charter, the faithful implementation of UN Security Council resolutions, and respect for international law and treaties. María Fernanda Espinosa, during her visit, acknowledged Pakistan’s significant contributions to regional peace efforts and its active participation in the UN over the years.
