PM Shehbaz Sharif Discusses Regional Connectivity with Tajik Envoy in Islamabad


Islamabad: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif met with Tajikistan Ambassador Sharifzoda Yusuf Toir to discuss a range of bilateral initiatives and regional connectivity projects, including the CASA-1000. The discussions also touched upon enhancing cooperation in education, agriculture, and defense.



According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the Prime Minister recalled his productive visit to Dushanbe and discussions with Tajik President Emomali Rahmon. He expressed satisfaction with the Memoranda of Understanding and agreements signed, emphasizing the importance of timely implementation to strengthen bilateral relations. Further, Shehbaz Sharif reiterated his invitation to President Rahmon to visit Pakistan and discussed upcoming engagements like the SCO Council of Heads of Government meeting scheduled in Islamabad this October.



The meeting underscored mutual interests in advancing connectivity through land and air routes and further collaboration in various sectors. The Tajik Ambassador updated the Prime Minister on several proposals aimed at boosting bilateral ties and was assured of Pakistan’s commitment to enhancing the partnership.
