ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has expressed the government’s determination to achieve a target of twenty-five billion dollars in IT exports over the next three years. In a recent meeting with a delegation from VEON Group in Islamabad, he emphasized the government’s efforts to develop and promote the telecommunication sector.
According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the Prime Minister highlighted steps being taken to introduce 5G internet services, which aim to provide faster and more reliable internet access across the country. This initiative is seen as a crucial part of realizing the vision of Digital Pakistan. Furthermore, the Prime Minister underscored the telecom sector’s vital role in advancing a cashless and digital economy, expressing Pakistan’s eagerness to collaborate with VEON Group to boost Information Technology, digitization, and artificial intelligence.
The VEON Group delegation commended the government’s efforts towards economic stability and recognized Pakistan’s growing significance as a destination for investment in the IT and telecom sectors.
