PM Shehbaz Sharif Accelerates Construction of Islamabad’s First IT Park

Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has emphasized the rapid progression of construction on Islamabad’s inaugural IT Park, slated for completion within the year. The facility, valued at twenty-five billion rupees and bolstered by a seventy million dollar soft loan from South Korea, promises significant opportunities for technological advancement and employment.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, during a visit to the site today, the Prime Minister commended the continuous efforts that keep the construction moving forward around the clock. He highlighted the future benefits of the IT Park, which will include one hundred and twenty offices for IT-enabled companies and the creation of job opportunities for ten thousand youth.

The Prime Minister expressed satisfaction with the construction quality and detailed the park’s features, including an incubation center for fifteen startups, commercial and recreational facilities, and robust links with academic institutions. He also noted the construction of an advanced IT lab within the park to foster research and development among the youth and the establishment of two hundred and fifty e-rozgaar centers nationwide.

Furthermore, Shehbaz Sharif outlined plans for additional IT parks at both federal and provincial levels, backed by an eighty billion rupees budget allocation for the IT sector, aimed at benefiting millions of youth across the country.

During his site visit, the Prime Minister received a comprehensive briefing on the ongoing work, learning that the IT Park is being developed over an area of 14.9 acres.
